The catalog was published on the occasion of the exhibition Damir Očko: Studies on Shivering (2.1.20143.6.2014) at Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst & Medien.

Published on the occasion of Damir Očko’s exhibition Studies on Shivering the publication is shaped as a hybrid format and following a fragmented narrative of a collage structure, that includes various range of visual, graphic and textual material, ranging from visual poetry, a scenario / film script, collage, film stills, installation views. Along with the exhibition it unfolded various Studies on Shivering” as a conceptual framework through which the artist questioned his approach to the process of filmmaking, which, besides central film work, included an array of creative expressions, such as poetry, musical scores, collages, research, music, and cinematic studies. It unfolded the artistic process by which the artist seeked to establish a space where film, research, and poetry meet.

Damir Očko

*1977 in Zagreb, lives in Croatia

studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb. Solo exhibitions were on display amongst others at Jeu de Paume, Paris (2020) and at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb (2020). His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, including the Lothringer13 in Munich, the Tirana Institute of Contemporary Art, the International Triennial for Contemporary Art in Prague and the Australian Center for Photography in Sydney. He has received scholarships from the Helsinki International Artist-in-Residence Program, the Tirana Institute of Contemporary Art, and KulturKontakt Wien. In 2015 Očko represented Croatia at the 56. Venice Biennale.
