“A stately mansion, brocade furniture, expensive crystal chandeliers. Everything is ready for exclusive culture. You take the record out of its sleeve, carefully. You place the needle on the turntable, carefully. You listen to Wilson Pickett, carefully. And then you look for someone in the room who looks exactly like any random person, and you punch him in the face, not carefully.” (Das Planetenparty Prinzip)
Oswald Wiener is back! The original thinking of the legendary Austrian avant-gardist is the focus of an exhibition at HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark. On this occasion, the Literaturhaus Graz is presenting a specially commissioned staging of his famous play PURIM from the novel die verbesserung von mitteleuropa. People who knew Wiener well and have engaged intensively with his work will then discuss the enduring impact and relevance of his extraordinarily dense and consistent artistic oeuvre.
Planetenparty Prinzip is an Austrian performance collective. The staged reading will be performed by Alexandra Schmidt, Lukas Michelitsch, and Nora Köhler. The event will take place at the Literaturhaus Graz, Elisabethstraße 30, 8010 Graz, in cooperation with HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark. Admission: 8/10 euros.
