With Diego Bianchi and Celina Eceiza, HALLE FÜR KUNST presents two influential voices in contemporary Argentine art. Both artists have their roots in the arts and crafts and create large-scale installations that transform spaces into impressive worlds of experience.
Diego Bianchi’s intervention Errores Irreales architecturally transforms the upper floor of HALLE FÜR KUNST, creating a spacious stage landscape. Here he positions his sculptures, which are both humorous and dystopian. In doing so, he questions our contemporary consumer culture, excess and waste, as well as common notions about the body and the relationship between people and objects, by showing that we are much more transformed by them than we often assume.
With her “soft museum,” Celina Eceiza develops a walk-in experiential space that can be experienced with all the senses. The exhibition Ofrenda consists of hundreds of meters of hand-dyed and bleached textiles and references Argentine art history by integrating the names and symbols of Argentine artists into her collages. Her paintings of larger-than-life figures invite visitors to engage in an almost dance-like dialogue with Eceiza’s works. The Gesamtkunstwerk thus encourages participation and exchange.
