Diego Bianchi (*1969 in Buenos Aires; lives in Buenos Aires and Paris) is a contemporary Argentinian artist who in his work with sculpture, installation, and performance, focuses on the concept of the body. For his upcoming exhibition Errores Irreales at HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark, Bianchi will use found and everyday objects from Buenos Aires, Paris, and Graz to create stage-like sculptural installations reflecting on the fragility and social role of the human body. His works are characterized by the playful combination of objects, bodies, and spaces, which he activates in performative stagings. In this way, he connects objects reminiscent of bodies with things that, at first glance, bear no resemblance to each other. These pieces reflect the artist’s fascination with objects of everyday use and our relationships with them. The resulting sculptures merge into new forms transcending the boundaries between humans and objects, thereby creating a new level of metaphorical meaning.
Diego Bianchi will create additional sculptures for the exhibition and needs materials from Graz. We are therefore looking for old, used everyday objects, clothing, furniture, and electrical appliances.
