In dreamed awake, artist Annemarie Arzberger takes visitors on a journey into the cosmos of her baroque and bizarre puppet theater, where characters such as Sanftmut (gentleness), Milde (mildness), and Dolores (sorrow) make their appearance and populate her Gesamtkunstwerk as a place of longing. In subdued lighting, a sequence of scenes from several artworks and arrangements unfolds piece by piece before the audience in a colorful bustle, drawing them ever deeper into her immersive world. Through the intertwining of the supposedly childish medium of puppet theater, a more than unusual visual language, and the transfer of individual characters into a comprehensive visual world, the artist succeeds in creating a very unique, playful, poetic, and at the same time unpretentious approach that equally enchants, amuses, and disturbs.

As part of the Long Night of Museums, from 6 p.m. to midnight every half an hour, there will be performative interventions by Annemarie Arzberger and Katharina Arzberger, as well as musical moments arranged by Manuel Obriejetan, based on the play premiered the evening before. On this evening, the stage setting becomes a walk-in installation that is activated throughout the Long Night of Museums with short scenes and songs in various blocks, bringing to life the collection of puppets, paintings, and stages, which can also be understood as a small exhibition of works. Visitors almost become part of the scenery themselves.
