Workshop
We are pleased to invite you to a radio workshop with Graz’s local and free Radio Helsinki on the occasion of Mathias Poledna’s exhibition. Together we will visit and discuss the exhibition, record audio material and produce a short radio program.
Mathias Poledna’s new film, produced in Los Angeles in the summer of 2024 forms the centerpiece of the installation at HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark, extending through all of the institution’s exhibition spaces and opening up new perspectives on his practice as a whole.
The workshop will begin with a more general introduction to the specific artistic practice of this important Austrian conceptual artist. We will then lead an interactive and conversational tour, approaching Poledna’s multifaceted oeuvre and exploring his references to popular culture and art history at the intersection of film, fashion and music history.
Modernity and cultural memory in art and pop culture are central to Poledna’s work – and this is exactly where we want to start our discussion about the exhibition as well as your experiences of pop culture, cultural phenomena, music and film history, in order to produce a new radio report broadcast with the great team of Radio Helsinki, Gea Gračner and İpek Yüksek.
The radio workshop is free of charge, please register by 15.10.24: cf@halle-fuer-kunst.at
