Long Museums Night Graz 2024
Guided tours, children program and Ask Me!

Tour

6 pm – midnight

On the occasion of the 2024’s Long Night of Museums in Graz, we are offering a program for the whole family and their friends. We will start at 6pm with a guided tour for children in an easy-to-understand language. At 8pm, Caro Feistritzer will give a more in-depth insight into Mathias Poledna’s work through a guided tour. Afterwards, the entire HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark team will be available to talk to visitors and answer their questions – barrier-free and without hesitation, true to the motto Ask Me!

This summer, Mathias Poledna produced a new 35mm film for the exhibition at HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark, which examines pop-cultural phenomena via references to art-history and intersections of fashion and music history. The film is presented at HALLE FÜR KUNST in dialogue with other works that similarly address the conditions of creating and exhibiting art, which are central themes for the artist.

Mathias Poledna’s interdisciplinary and multi-layered practice ranges from films to expansive installations, architectural interventions and independent series of works made from found artworks, objects and ephemeral materials. His work deals in particular with modernism and its continuity into the present day, examining this continuum as an open history that expresses itself in a multitude of manifestations in architecture, art, music and fashion.
