Artist Talk

In their joint conversation, Florian Pumhösl and Mathias Poledna will discuss Poledna’s current exhibition at HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark as well as related subjects and questions. The two artists share a long history of exchange in form of collaborations and exhibitions.

A common thread in the artistic approach of the two artists is their engagement with specific cultural and historical materials and how these are reflected in their art. While usually operating in different media, they share an interest in the ways in which the history of modernity is articulated in art and design, its transience and potentials. In the framework of this exhibition they will focus on Mathias Poledna’s new film, relevant connections to art and other fields, as well as both of their ongoing exploration of the exhibition as a medium.
