Once again, we cordially invite you to a radio workshop at HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 2 pm to 5 pm. We would like to record audio material within the exhibitions Franz Kapfer: Atlanten — Ich oder das Chaos [Me or the Chaos] and Isabel Lewis, Dirk Bell: Ever/Repair and produce a short radio report.

In his exhibition Atlanten — Ich oder das Chaos, Styrian artist Franz Kapfer presents various groups of works that critically reflect on historical and contemporary events. He examines how historical objects, symbols and monuments are used and often misused politically and by the media. In their exhibition Ever/Repair, the artist couple Isabel Lewis, a US-Dominican choreographer, and the Munich painter Dirk Bell investigate history and its relevance for the present. Accompanied by sounds and texts that explore the Jamaican tradition of the Junkanoo carnival, they address the persistence of colonial violence and how it can be countered and counter-balanced through the practice of care.

studied media and communication. She is involved in expressive dance and active in physical theater. At Radio Helsinki, she leads workshops, coordinates the “Radio Re:volt” project and supervises the youth editorial team.

is editorial coordinator at “Radio Re:volt”. She completed her training in digital journalism and graphic design, runs workshops and is active at the social media team. She is also a journalist at Radio Helsinki. She focuses on topics related to migration, feminism and education policy.
