Panther Resident
Antonia De La Luz Kašik
Artist Talk
As part of the Panther Residency, Antonia De La Luz Kašik has developed a new film as well as an installation. In her cinematic work she explores technical possibilities of analog camera and film material. In connection to existing works, the artist develops a new film for the participation in Systems of Belief, which moves at the limits of the medium. Optical constructions are attached to the camera, which, connected between the apparatus and the outside world, both transform the depicted reality and become part of the image themselves. This creates kaleidoscopic visual worlds that mirror and abstract the gaze. In addition to the new film, the exhibition will also show the objects she used to produce the film. The talk will address questions about the different strands of her work and about her working methods.
