On the occasion of the Styrian State Prize in Recognition of Fine Art 2020, the HALLE FÜR KUNST shows an – eponymous – exhibition of the artist Anita Leisz, who comes from Styria and lives in Vienna. The placement of Leisz works in the large exhibition hall stands out due to its close connection with the architecture of the building and raises questions about the spatial conditions of art, as well as its limits and potentials.

On today’s date, Sandro Droschl (Director, HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark) will provide insights into the artist’s work by means of a guided tour and talk about the concept of the exhibition, which is surprising to some. How can Leisz’s interventions be understood as autonomous works and what relationship do they have to the spaces?
