The exhibition Every word was once an animal shows several video works by Yalda Afsah that circulate around questions of domestication and the ambivalent relationships between humans and animals. The exhibition takes place in cooperation with Kunstverein München and is curated by Maurin Dietrich (Director, Kunstverein München) and Cathrin Mayer (Curator, HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark).

For today’s curatorial tour, Cathrin Mayer will accompany visitors through the exhibition and provide insightful background information on the diverse areas that become apparent through Afsah’s works: bullfighting, horse dressage, and the art of flying pigeons. In addition, Mayer provides fascinating insights into her work and illustrates important decision-making processes in curatorial practice.
