Under the title Korrespondenzen (Correspondences) the newly established Center for Contemporary Art at the University of Graz — varying every two years — deals with current, controversial socio-political topics and sets them in a practical-artistic realization and scientific-theoretical situation. The Correspondences react to worldwide political events and conditions. In particular, the potentials of Graz’s urban space are taken up and made visible. Thus, the final result can take different forms and be presented in the form of a discussion evening, an academic lecture, a performance or a participatory art project, in the sense of Relational Aesthetics. On the third day of this year’s event, entitled Climate Change & Environmental Justice, the HALLE FÜR KUNST will be the venue for the lecture and discussion program. The exhibition will serve as a stimulating framework, as Filko has also dealt with issues of the environment and utopia.
