Conventionally, the big city is celebrated as the birthplace of modern art. Filko‘s life and work, however, cross the divide between the rural and urban. Born in the countryside, he went to the city, died two times on the way, and birthed an art that, while speaking of techno production, destruction, and travel, never lost touch with what it means to farm, sow, or shovel out dung.
