Please note that this video is available in German.

In this contribution Sandro Droschl gives a short introduction to the exhibition Europe: Ancient Future. The exhibition shows works by contemporary artists who refer to different concepts of Europe’s ancient past. These are examined with regard to their possible meanings for the present and future of Europe. In particular, the relationship between the individual and the group, which has been a recurring theme since antiquity, plays a major role. This relationship is illustrated by Sandro Droschl on the basis of the series Extremes Europa (2002) by Jutta Koether within the exhibition.
