TGIF — Thank God it is Friday
Precious Nnebedum, Nancy Okeke & LEA

Video

The three singer/songwriters, performers and all-round artists Precious Nnebedum, Nancy Okeke and LEA from Graz created an evening full of music and poetry on 9.7.2021 and shared the HALLE FÜR KUNST stage.

TGIF is an independent format that takes place once a month on Friday afternoon from July to October, in the immediate outdoor area and surrounding city park of the HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark. TGIF (Thank God it’s Friday) is intended as a playful extension of the curatorial program and invites regionally as well as internationally active musicians and artists to perform live music or performances around the pavilion of the HALLE FÜR KUNST.

Like the free admission to the exhibitions, TGIF signals an opening of the institution to the outside and would like to invite visitors to claim the HALLE FÜR KUNST as a social meeting place.

Mathias Poledna has created a complex, multi-layered body of work in which films, expansive installations and architectural interventions are in constant dialog with each other, where independent series of works, found objects and ephemeral materials all condense to form a singular artistic language. Central to his practice are questions of modernity, cultural memory and the visual imaginary in art and popular culture.
