In Balance: Museum Ballett
Ann-Kathrin Adam & Lucie Horná
Video
HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark has organized a dance performance as part of the exhibition Europe: Ancient Future.
Ann-Kathrin Adam and Lucie Horná, both dancers of the Opera Graz, will use the exhibition space for an improvised, dance commentary and will make the works, as well as the architecture of the space, appear once again in a different and dynamic way. The space will be rethought: How can we perceive art through our bodies? How do visual positions interact with the medium of dance?
Music recording: Balanescu Quartet.
Text: “If” by Rudyard Kipling.
Ann-Kathrin Adam was born in Germany and trained at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart. In 2005 she was engaged in the ballet of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where she danced first under the direction of Youri Vamos and then under Martin Schläpfer as a soloist. In 2017, she was awarded the Förderpreis für darstellende Künste of the city of Düsseldorf. Since summer 2019 she dances at the Opera Graz.
Lucie Horná comes from the Czech Republic, where she already started her ballet training. From 2006 she moved to the Vienna State Opera Ballet School, where she graduated in 2016. In the 2016/2017 season, she was part of the Vienna State Opera Youth Company and participated in performances with the State Ballet. The following season she was engaged in the ensemble of the South Bohemian Theatre in Budweis. From the 2018/19 season Lucie Horná is a member of the Graz Opera Ballet.
